2017 has been a year of creating unique styles through the use of new materials like wood tiling; luxuries such as underfloor heating; and modern features like walk-in showers.

At Bathrooms Complete, we work with our customers to decide which features are most important to them when designing their new bathroom, the style or theme that compliments their home, as well as helping to make the most of their budget.

Redesigning your bathroom can improve the value of your home and make your property more appealing to buyers. A newly remodelled bathroom looks cleaner, is easier to maintain and is less likely to experience plumbing problems over time.

Clean & Contemporary Design

White-on-white and black and white, with clean lines and a minimalistic approach have all proven to be very popular this year. Wood furnishings have shown to be a firm favourite, as the feeling of natural warmth works exceptionally well within the bathroom environment. For people who aren’t sure which colours or materials are right for them, take a look at some of our previous work for inspiration.

Wood Tiling

Wood tiling is a is a relatively new material similar to hardwood flooring, but is bathroom safe due to it’s waterproof design. Wood tiles provide a sleek, modern appearance with a calming natural warmth and comes in different colours and textures.
We often suggest natural accessories and decor, such as plants, neutral colours, wicker baskets and furniture, and natural lighting. These all complement wood tiling beautifully.

Heated Flooring

Underfloor heating is a wonderful feature in any bathroom, particularly on a cold winter morning or when you get out of a nice warm shower onto a tiled floor.

There are several ways Bathrooms Complete can help you achieve this, one of which being an ‘electric radiant mat’ installed before applying tasteful new floor tiles. The mat is linked to the home electricity and controlled by a thermostat. The temperature can be set at a constant level or to vary according to the time of day.

Built-in Storage

Built-in storage is a great way to optimise a bathroom or en-suite with limited space. It can be customised to fit in to various positions, and make the most of any alcove or corner. When integrated with your bath, toilet or basin, it can create a far more elegant look more than perhaps a standard freestanding unit.

Floating Vanities

A floating vanity unit updates any style of bathroom, making the room feel airy and spacious by adding space between the unit and the floor. A floating vanity can be as simple as a beautifully cut wood top with a vessel sink, or a double sink with drawers underneath for storage. The space below can allow you to neatly stow your scales or fresh towels.

Textures and patterns

Patterns printed on textured tiles make bathrooms tactile, attractive and unique. In addition to textured tiles, textured floors; walls and other features can give the bathroom a subtly exotic appearance.

Deluxe Showers

Deluxe showers are a popular feature that many homeowners are keen to install. They include:
• Showers with multiple heads that enhance the showering experience. Extra shower heads can massage the body with jets of water, or invigorate with an differing streams of water
• Walk-in showers are much larger than standard showers, making them easier and safer to use.
• Waterfall shower heads bathe the body in a luxurious, natural flow of water. This variation of shower head is relaxing as well as functional, making them idea for modern homeowners
• Frameless shower doors are made from strong, sturdy glass and require no metal frame to stay in place. This makes them sleek, elegant and perfect for modern bathrooms

Freestanding baths

With the rocketing popularity of deluxe and luxury showers, the shower/bath combination is becoming less common, however, this has lead to a resurgence of freestanding tubs. They have a beautiful, classic look with a wide variety of shapes and styles on offer. They can be equally suited to a vintage, through to the modern looking bathroom.

Digital Connectivity

In this modern age it’s becoming increasingly popular to provide digital connectivity in the bathroom. Fitting bluetooth speakers and wireless screens is something that more and more people are looking to do. Best of all, built-in technology is hidden from view, which means it is not the focus of the room, leaving you to sing all you want without risking damage to your music player.

Accessibility is a very important consideration when designing bathrooms for the physically impaired. Some common features that make the bathroom more accessible include:
• Curbless showers that have no step or lip, allowing free movement into the shower zone
• Floating vanities give greater room for manoeuvrability for wheelchair users
• Shower seats enable the user to sit whilst washing or take a rest if needed
• Custom storage options allow the user to position their bathroom essentials in easy to reach places
